The weekend was incredibly hot. Possibly the hottest tournament I’ve ever experienced, both as an archer and a photographer. On Saturday, temperatures reached 33 degrees Celsius. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and due to the nature of the tournament, the archers were constantly exposed to the sun.

This year’s NK Outdoor was held in Helmond, near the fields of archery club Handboogsportvereniging Recht Door Zee. The finals took place at the castle in the center of Helmond, which is also known as the “Castle of Sinterklaas.”

Only the archers who made it to the semi-finals were able to shoot at the castle grounds.
