Exciting Upcoming Archery Tournaments in North-West Europe

A few weeks ago I’ve been scanning some websites to see where there are some nice tournaments that I want to photograph. In April Tina and I will go to a few field tournaments.

Archer for 15 years

In my earlier blog I wrote about NĂ®mes. This tournament was amazing for me! I got a lot of great shots and I learned a lot more about the companies sponsoring this event, and who sell some very nice products. Seeing everyone shoot, it started itching again for me to shoot myself. Since the World Cup I’ve been shooting a lot more (archery in this case), and I’ve been enjoying it a lot more! Main reason for me enjoying it more, is that I dropped some responsibilities that I had at the club I shoot at. The tasks and monthly meeting ate away my pleasure in shooting.

Now that I don’t have those responsibilities anymore, I enjoy archery a lot more! I’ve blown the dust of my PSE Supra and started training again. My main point of training is keeping the forehand as still as possible, with the dot of my scope on the center of the target.

Last training I had such a fun time, that I decided that I want to shoot a big tournament this year. I’m not sure which tournament yet, but I will find one. I might even shoot in the JVD Open, who knows!

Upcoming tournaments

Since I’ll be doing a lot of photography, there are a few that I will most definitely go to in the Netherlands and North-West Europe.

In April I start the outdoor season off with a field tournament in Overloon, the Netherlands. There is a military museum there with an outdoor terrain, where it would be amazing to shoot photos at! This event is organized by Ons Genoegen Ysselsteyn, the same club that organized the amazing Nationals Field tournament last year.

The second weekend will be the first field tournament of the 5 Nations Cup in Wuustwezel, Belgium. Previously, the tournament in Belgium was held in Fort van Lier in late July / the start of August. I’ve never been at Wuustwezel and I’m really curious to see the terrain. If you haven’t signed up for the 5 Nations yet, but you do want to participate, make sure visit www.5nations.org to sign up 🙂

In the final weekend of April Florentina will be heading to MĂĽllenborn for four days, to get some training in. Together with a small group of field archers and our trainer, we will go to (in my opinion) one of the most extreme, but amazing, field courses in North-West Europe. I will take my camera along, so I can practice photography in the field. I want to learn more about some pretty angles to capture archers and equipment. I might take my bow along, lets see!

For now, thank you for reading! See my Instagram for regular updates, photos or any other information on tournaments that I’m going to. If you want more information on those tournaments, you can DM me! Here’s a kick ass photo of a target you have to shoot from the top of a water tower in MĂĽllenborn!
