Hello, it’s me!

Hi! I’m very excited that you’ve come this far to read my first blog post! Thank you very much for showing interest in me and my photography hobby.

Let me introduce myself. I’m Jelle Schräder and I found a passion in photography. Since 2022 I started taking photos at events (specially archery events) with my phone. I really enjoyed composing a shot of people doing their favorite hobby. A year later I bought my very first camera: a Canon EOS RP with a Canon RF 50mm 1.8f lens. This camera already brought me so much joy! At first, I thought my photos kind of sucked, of course I just started out. But as I kept going making photos, read about it and just play with different kind of settings on my camera and with the light that I had to my disposal, I got quite hang of it.

Since 2024 I invested more in reading what kind of camera settings would suite me in archery photography and concert photography. These two topics you will find mostly on this website.

I went to my first concert where I went purely for making photos. Obviously, I did really like the bands that were playing there, but that wasn’t the main goal. The main goal for me was to take a single sharp photo at a concert. For me concerts are a really hard kind of photography: a lot of darkness, a few flashing and moving lights and then all the subjects on stage are moving. To me, this is basically the same as fighting Ganondorf! In the end, I made a total of over 1200 photos in those 3 hours I was there. I think only 20 or so photos were good in my opinion and so I edited them to look a bit nicer. You can find those photos in my Concert Photography Portfolio. They’re not all fully sharp, but at least the subjects look really nice.

Holy cow I already wrote quite some text. Back to me. Next to photography I really enjoy cooking, and of course eating the result of it. I really enjoy spending a few hours in the kitchen making a great meal!

Next to photography and cooking, I do archery since 2012. The books and movies at that time got me going for it. I have enjoyed it so much and since a few years I now also enjoy the great field archery competitions. Look it up, it’s even better than just shooting at an archery range!

Thanks for reading, enjoy my photos and if you want you can also check out my Instagram for some extra behind the scenes!
